**Hackerdome**: Let's all hack together! Working at home is great -- //except when it isn't//. - Wish you had some peers to bounce ideas off of? - Missing the social aspect of going to lunch with someone besides the cat? - Find your productivity slipping due to excessive reading of LWN or Reddit? - Does your work never end because you're always "at the office" (i.e. your house?) - Maybe a semi-regular schedule would kind of be nice, after all? Hackerdome is an effort to create a shared primary work environment based not on who's paying your salary, but what we're all working on -- open source and Linux. It's like a beering, except it's every day and everyone is working. :) Here's the deal. Hackerdome provides: * Co-workers who will miss you if you don't show up * big whiteboards * Secure shared office space * Fast internet/wifi not behind a firewall * An assigned long-term desk to work at (i.e. your dev box should live here) * Located centrally in Portland, accessible via public transportation * Funding structure based on employer or other funding, not you (highly TBD) **Call to action** Do you: * work from home * work on Linux * willing to commit to at least 3 days/week working from Hackerdome? Then please add your info below. If this is going to go anywhere, we need a critical mass of people (6-10?) who will commit to make this their primary workplace, before we can seriously consider moving forward.
